Hey there!

So I said in the last post That I will tell you more about myself in this post, let’s kick this up ๐Ÿ™‚
I’m Dekel, I live in Israel, I’m 27 years old, and a software engineer in my profession.
I’ve always loved creating things and coming up with new Ideas. My hobbies are Computer games, Wood-working, music, friends, and finances (hence – this website).

When I was 8 I started my first “business”. A friend of my sister, my sister (who was 7 at the time), and I were playing in the garden when a thought came to my mind, “Why not make a bouquet and sell it”. We started gathering flowers, plants, and whatever we could find to create our first product, pieced it all together, and Voila! our first product is done. It was the most horrendous, massive, and mostly ugly bouquet I have ever seen in my life… But we were children and it looked good to us back then.
Now came the sales part, the part we were all terrified of. We took turns approaching random people that came near our garden, and we got a lot of “no”s, and ignores. There was this pretty lady, she was at her late 20s, walking with an old man and holding his arm. I approached her ,”would like to buy the bouquet?”, I asked. She politely refused. I got back to the garden and we approached more people that passed by, nobody wanted it.
A few minutes later, the lady I approached came back with the man, and asked “How much does the bouquet cost? I would like to buy it for my father”; “3 Shekels”, I replied, “one for each of us”. She took out 3 Shekels from her purse, and handed one to each of us. We were ecstatic and ran back home to tell our parents, they were ashamed… And so, our business died on its’ first day, and my passion got turned down as well.
As I said in the last post, at the age of 14, I discovered the “Rich Dad Poor Dad” book by accident and the flame has been reignited.
The finance subject fascinated me and all I wanted was to learn more about it.

I’ll never forget that lady and her father. They gave 3 little kids hope, a sense of success, and the drive to not give up even when everyone says no.
Stand up for yourself, and give yourself a chanceโ€ฆ Who knows? You might even find out that you can make it ๐Ÿ™‚

See you in the next post,
Dekel
